How Long To Cook Stew Meat In A Slow Cooker

To cook a whole beef roast in a slow cooker start by seasoning the meat according to your preferred recipe. Place the pot back on the stove top and add three to four diced potatoes three carrots sliced into 12 inch slices and one pound frozen peas.

Transfer the ingredients into a slow cooker and then let them cook for about one hour.

Once the meat is seared on both sides set the slow cooker to the time and temperature specified in your recipe.

This beef stew cooks for 8 hours on low in a 4 to 6 quart slow cooker.
You can use stew meat for beef stew obviously but we prefer bottom round beef roast.

Replace the lid and bring the pot back up to 10 pounds pressure.
Mix the flour beef broth and water in a bowl.

Whisk cornstarch with water stir into stew and cook on high heat an additional 20 minutes to help thicken slightly.




Add all the ingredients to the slow cooker and stir round to make sure everything is nicely mixed together.
In a small bowl whisk the flour tomato paste and broth until smooth.
Cook for three to five minutes and release the pressure in the sink.




In a small bowl mix together the flour salt and pepper.
Cover and cook on low for 6 8 hours or until meat is tender.
